Project Summary

The eCLAU project is a Youth in Action project that has the aim of raising youth awareness concerning political life, through the provision of better knowledge of the results that are achieved by EU policies concerning actions in the environmental field.  The project is striving to bring the EU closer to its youth and to improve their role within the democratic system of the EU using ICT.

Climate change needs transnational solutions but the eCLAU project aims to work from a bottom-up perspective, involving local authorities and other such institutions/organizations.

eCLAU consists of several dissemination campaigns (workshops, magazines, International meeting in Zaragoza) that converge in the creation of an interactive web page, promotion e-participation.  The eCLAU projet follows two senses: on the one hand, it will give information about the results achieved by EU policies in sustainable development and, on the other hand, will provide feedback through active participation using ICT.

Objectives

The aim of the eCLAU project is to basically raise youth awareness about the importance of the EU in the fights against climate change.  The results will be to prove to youth why their contribution is of such significance and to achieve the active participation of youth.

The general objectives include:

  • - The promotion of European cooperation and active citizenship in the field of youth thanks to their participation in the national workshops and the International meeting that will take place in Zaragoza, encouraging interactions between citizens and civil society organizations and promoting those projects implemented at a local level concerning the Democratic participation and the fight against climate change.

  • - To promote the use of ICT to broaden and deepen political participation. E-participation will be the tool for encouraging youngsters to explain their opinions, recommendations, expressing youth point of view.
